Media policies
These guidelines outline the qualifications for obtaining a press pass to attend the #DiscoverBMB meeting or access embargoed press materials electronically. Reporters attending the meeting in person are also required to comply with the #DiscoverBMB code of conduct and photography and recording policy.
Journalists with reporter access to EurekAlert! and those with formal credentials, such as a press club badge, qualify for a press pass. Journalists who do not have press credentials or EurekAlert! access must submit two recent samples of their bylined work and provide a letter of assignment, on official letterhead, from the publication or broadcast outlet for which they are covering the #DiscoverBMB meeting. Qualifying online outlets must provide content that is original and independent of advertising and sponsorship; personal websites do not qualify.
#DiscoverBMB organizers reserve the right to limit the number of passes provided to any organization and the right to deny press pass requests. Press passes are not available to representatives of journals that do not contain news sections; editors of journals or other publications who do not edit their outlet’s news section; representatives of book, magazine or journal publishers; advertising and marketing representatives; or public information officers and individuals representing public relations firms. Such individuals must register through the main registration system and pay the required registration fees.
