Award lectures

These high-profile speakers will cover impactful research and education and diversity initiatives.

Spotlight talks

Spotlight talks are chosen from volunteered abstracts and present the freshest findings and trends. Spotlight talks provide opportunities for PIs and trainees, both new to their careers and in established labs, to present and become known to the community.

Poster sessions

Poster presentations are chosen from volunteered abstracts and given in the exhibit hall. Poster sessions provide a forum for scientists and educators of all career stages to present their latest research and best practices. All poster presenters enjoy live Q&As with attendees.

Designed and presented by scientists and science educators, workshops at #DiscoverBMB complement the meeting's scientific sessions with opportunities to learn and collaborate on topics related to BMB science, career development, outreach and DEI.

Workshop proposal submissions will open in July. Check back at that time for eligibility and criteria.

Interest groups

Interest groups bring together attendees with similar scientific and pedagogical concerns to share key findings, exchange ideas and establish rapport. To keep conversations going, interest groups hold meetups in the exhibit hall during the course of the meeting.

Meetup networking events provide a casual atmosphere for open discussion and networking around a topic or interest area. They are an opportunity to make new connections during the meeting and help foster impactful collaborations and close-knit, supportive communities.

Career hub

The career hub in the exhibit hall will have a variety of career-development and society activities for attendees, including career coaching and networking.

One on one mentoring

One-on-one mentoring provides participants the opportunity to obtain mentoring advice on a variety of career related topics such as CV/resume writing, graduate school survival etc.

If you are interested in participating as a mentor at #DiscoverBMB 2024, you may indicate your interest during the abstract submission process or during registration. Selection will be based on eligibility and programming needs.
